Dallas Brass Band Season Begins & 5th Anniversary Concert

August 21, 2022

Phillip will be continuing on this season with the Dallas Brass Band as Assistant Principal Trombone. Their first concert of the Fall season will be Sunday, October 2nd at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church in Dallas, TX. Click the link below to the band's official website for more details.

Falcone Festival Semi-Finalist & Radio Performance

August 5-8, 2022

Phillip competed in Twin Lake, Michigan as a semi-finalist in the Euphonium Artist division of the 2022 Leonard Falcone International Euphonium & Tuba Festival. There he performed Kayla Roth's "Modal Suite" and David Gillingham's "Vintage" as part of the competition.

In addition to the competitive aspect of the festival, Phil also performed with the Falcone Festival's Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble as part of a live radio broadcast on Blue Lake Public Radio WBLU-FM on Sunday August, 7th. They performed two selections in a concert program combined with the Blue Lake Festival Band which featured festival guest artist/tubist, Dr. Kent Eshelman.

2nd Place Winner

July 26, 2022

Phillip won 2nd Place in the 2022 Stars and Shipes Mock Band E-Competition! Stars and Shipes is a series of competitions that allows serious students and aspiring professional musicians to participate in a high-level competition without leaving their homes. 

​

The competition was judged by three professional euphonium players either currently in or having previously performed in premier military bands. This year's sponsors include Euphonium.com and the International Euphonium Tuba Festival.

​

3rd Prize Winner - IWBC Euphonium Solo Competition

May 25, 2022

As a member of the International Women's Brass Conference, Phillip performed in the Euphonium Artist 24+ division of the Susan Slaughter Solo Competition. He performed Bert Appermont's The Green Hill, and Kayla Roth's Modal Suite. Phillip won third prize for the division!

1st Prize Winner - NABBA 1st Section Band Contest

April 30, 2022

Phillip Traveled as a Associate Principal Trombonist of the Dallas Brass Band to compete at the 2022 North American Brass Band Association Band Championship. The Dallas Brass Band won 1st Prize in the 1st section contest.
